Less energy than primary aluminium
Our secondary billets are remelted from post-consumer and industrial scrap — keeping metal in circulation and out of landfills.
For over 25 years, Formosa Shyen Horng Metal has turned recycled aluminium into world-class extrusion billets — delivering the strength of primary metal at a fraction of its carbon cost.
From the window frame on your office tower to the heatsink keeping your laptop cool, aluminium shapes modern life for countless everyday items. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of A-Rank Berhad — a Bursa Malaysia Main Market listed company since 2005 — Formosa Shyen Horng Metal is a long-standing company for more than two decades specialized in manufacturing and supplying aluminium billets which serve as the base material behind those products.
What started in 1998 with 12,000 metric tonnes of annual capacity is today the largest secondary aluminium remelt operation in Malaysia, producing up to 132,000 MT a year for extrusion partners across Asia.
At Formosa, this principle has shaped out approach to aluminium production for decades, balancing performance, efficiency, and responsibility.
Our secondary billets are remelted from post-consumer and industrial scrap — keeping metal in circulation and out of landfills.
Every metric tonne of scrap we re-cast is a metric tonne that didn't need to be smelted from bauxite ore.
Aluminium is permanent material, can be remelted indefinitely.
From the moment scrap arrives at our gate to the moment a billet is loaded onto a truck, every step happens under one roof — and under one ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.

Each rated at 25 MT — fitted with heat-regenerating burners and magnetic stirrers for energy efficiency and consistent alloying.
A single 30 MT unit delivers precise temperature control between melt and cast — a foundation for billet quality.
Fully automated vertical direct-chilled casting with air-slip molds and in-line degasser — shallow sump, to prevent hydrogen porosity.
Each 35 MT homogeniser pairs with air cooling to achieve uniformly metallurgical properties and deliver extruder-ready microstructure.
High-throughput cutting cells cut lead times for every dimension we ship — from 3″ through 11″, up to 6 m.

From scrap to spec-grade billet — every step under one roof.
Two alloy families. Eleven standard diameters. Custom alloys and lengths on request. Whatever your extrusion press demands, we cast to it.
High electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior workability — ideal where formability and conductivity matter more than strength.
Our workhorse range. Heat-treatable, structurally strong, and extrusion-friendly — the backbone of architectural, transport and industrial systems across Asia.
Send us your alloy, diameter, length and quantity. We'll come back with availability and pricing within one business day.

The architectural backbone of modern buildings — light, strong, infinitely formable.

Curtain walls and interior systems for offices, retail, hospitality and transit.

Industrial and consumer ladders, frames and load-bearing assemblies.

Thermal management for power electronics, LEDs, computing and EV battery systems.

Fluid handling, pneumatic systems, machine bases — wherever metal meets motion.
Tell us what you're building — chances are we already cast for it.
